About the Author,

“As a wearer of many hats, I simply consider myself a liver of life, who aspires to inspire.”-Amber

Born and raised in East St. Louis, Illinois, Amber, along with her loving husband, Darrion, and their spunky daughter, Emery, currently reside in Metro Saint Louis. Earning her Bachelor of Business Administration from Jackson State University, Amber is a proud HBCU graduate, Soror of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., corporate professional, and newly published Children’s Author.

As an avid reader, Bogan looked forward to sharing her love for reading with her daughter but was instead met with an unfortunate roadblock. The books she longed to add to her daughter’s bookshelf simply did not exist in multitude…books that offered her daughter both a positive reflection and would inspire her to be the very best version of herself.

“Black children deserve to see themselves positively reflected in the books they read, and more importantly, they deserve to be front and center as the main character, not only as support. Not only do they deserve to see themselves in the book, but also as the storyteller. That’s why this journey is so important to me, I get to help fill a gap both with the work product itself and as the creator”- Amber

Frustrated with the lack of diversity in children’s literature, Bogan saw a need and decided to help fill it. Inspired by an affirmation written for her daughter, “My name is Emery, and I’m Destined for Greatness!”, her debut title, Little Miss is Destined for Greatness was born! As the first title in the Little Miss Children's Book Collection, Little Miss is Destined for Greatness serves as a resource to help develop a powerful inner voice for little ones everywhere!

“This labor of love is my way of standing in the gap to help address the lack of diversity in children’s literature. Creating Books where brown and black children feel loved, seen, and empowered is much more than a hobby, but a calling.” -Amber
